About Deep South

Our Mission

Ride the Cape, effortlessly.

To provide unforgettable, eco-friendly cycling experiences along one of the world's most breathtaking coastlines — making the natural beauty of the Cape accessible to all, regardless of fitness or age.

E-assist flattens the climbs, so the day stays about the landscape. Atlantic on one side, fynbos and mountain on the other. No lycra required.

Our Story

A better way to see the Peninsula

Deep South Bike Tours was born from a simple idea: the most beautiful corners of the Cape Peninsula shouldn't be reserved for hardcore cyclists or bus-tour crowds. With e-bikes, anyone can climb Chapmans Peak at sunrise, glide through the vineyards of Constantia, or cruise the pine-shaded roads of Tokai Forest — and actually enjoy the view while doing it.

Every tour is small, guided, and locally led. We ride quiet lanes and known-good tracks, stop for coffee where the coffee is worth stopping for, and time the route around light, wind and traffic. It's the Peninsula the way locals do it — only with a motor helping on the hills.

What Sets Us Apart

Small, sustainable, and seriously local

Zero-emission rides

Our e-bikes replace minibus fumes with silent glides past fynbos, baboons and ocean cliffs. Better for the reserve, better for the ride.

Accessible to all

Pedal-assist means fitness isn't a barrier. First-timers, families, older riders and seasoned cyclists all finish the same route with a smile.

Small groups

Six to ten riders per tour, one guide. No megaphones, no cattle-herding — just a small group moving at a proper pace.

Curated routes

Cape Point Nature Reserve, Chapmans Peak Drive, Constantia Wine Route and Tokai Forest — hand-picked, safety-checked, and timed for the best light.

Local guides

Certified in first aid, born on the Peninsula. Our guides know which viewpoint the tour buses miss and where the best flat white lives.

Fully supported

Helmets, reflective vests, water, snacks and route support on request. All you need to bring is a sense of adventure.

Sustainability & Community

Ride light. Give back.

We built Deep South Bike Tours to be genuinely eco-conscious — not as a marketing line, but as a rule for how we operate. Every ride is zero-emission. Every route is designed to tread lightly on the reserves and forests we love.

We partner with local cafés, guesthouses and conservation groups along the way, hire local guides, and support the small businesses that make the Peninsula feel like the Peninsula.

Who We Ride With

Made for curious travellers

International and local visitors looking for a proper outdoor experience beyond the tour-bus circuit. Cruise-ship passengers with a half-day to spare. Cape Town locals after a weekend adventure that isn't the same three trails. Hotels, guesthouses and concierge partners looking for a premium, reliable partner to send their guests to.

If you'd rather trade an air-conditioned bus for the smell of fynbos, salt air and pine, you're our kind of rider. No cycling background needed — just a willingness to see the Cape the slow way.
